The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced the commencement of the 2025 school selection process for basic schools ahead of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E.).

The process starts on Tuesday, May 27, and ends on June 6, 2025.

At a media conference in Accra on Tuesday, May 27, Deputy Education Minister Dr. Clement Abas Apaak cautioned that “no school head or teacher should fill out selection forms for students without parental or guardian consent.”

He urged parents to take charge of the forms, fill them out, sign them, and keep a copy.

He said, “Although the government and private schools reached an agreement to include them in this year’s Free Senior High School (SHS) placement, private schools will unfortunately miss out on the initiative this year.” However, they will be included in the program next year.
