Kuami Eugene: From Humble Beginnings to Afrobeats Stardom

Born Eugene Kwame Marfo on February 1, 1997, in Akim Oda, he had developed an early interest in music through singing at the church and learning to play instruments. This was followed by other hits like Confusion, Wish Me Well, and Ohemaa, which indeed stamped his reputation as a hitmaker and one of the most versatile artists in Ghana.

Kuami Eugene fuses highlife, afrobeats, and other modern African rhythms to produce a sound that appeals to all categories of people, regardless of their age. His cooperation with both national and foreign performers, Nigeria’s Davido and Patoranking in particular, has expanded the opportunities for him; that is why he is probably one of the most popular artists in Africa.
