Denzel Washington Has Revealed That He Will Appear in ‘Black Panther 3′, Which is Expected to Be One of His Final Roles Before He Retires

There’s already buzz surrounding Washington’s performance in “Gladiator II,” but he is also contemplating his future projects.

In a recent interview with Australia’s “Today” show, Washington discussed his career and forthcoming roles.

The acclaimed Oscar-winning actor explained that his current project choices focus on the director, stating he is “only interested in collaborating with the best.”

“I’m not sure how many more films I’ll make,” said Washington, 69. “Probably not too many. I want to explore new opportunities.”

He mentioned his upcoming Broadway engagement in Shakespeare’s “Othello,” where he will portray the lead character, a role he first took on at the age of 22.

“Following that, I’ll be playing Hannibal. Afterward, I’ve been in discussions with Steve McQueen about a film,” he noted. “Then, Ryan Coogler is writing a role for me in the next Black Panther.”

Marvel has yet to officially confirm the production of a third installment in the “Black Panther” series.

Washington also indicated plans to star in a film adaptation of “Othello,” as well as “King Lear,” adding that he intends to retire afterward.
