President-elect John Dramani Mahama Siad: We Will Right The Wrongs Of Akufo-Addo’s Government

President-elect John Dramani Mahama said in his 2025 New Year’s speech to rectify the shortcomings of the departing Akufo-Addo government and bring moral leadership back to Ghana.

“We will diligently work to correct the numerous wrongs of the outgoing administration, tackle corruption with resolve, and rein in unnecessary government expenditures,” Mahama said, reaffirming his commitment to combating corruption and limiting excessive government spending.

This pledge comes against a backdrop of widespread public discontent over corruption scandals involving the outgoing government, such as the $190 million Norway Embassy controversy.

It is believed that Mahama’s return to government will present a chance to boost the nation’s economy and solve basic issues like fair pay, better healthcare, and affordable housing.
