Canton Academy 8th Grader Jasper Branning, son of Pastor John Branning, has passed away

The Canton Academy of Mississippi and the family of Reverend John Branning have reported the passing of their son and student, John Branning.

Branning died early on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was thirteen.

The cause of death has not been revealed.

Branning, an 8th grader, played football for Canton Academy with his brother Aidan, who was in 12th grade.

Details for the funeral arrangements will be shared once they are confirmed.

“Our CA family comes together with heavy hearts at this time as we grieve the loss of beloved 8th grader and dedicated Canton Academy Panther, Jasper Branning,” Canton Academy said in a statement. “Please join us in keeping the Branning family in our thoughts and prayers along with Jasper’s classmates, friends, teachers and coaches.”
