Tumu: Dying Breastfeeding Nurse Seeks Help for Kidney Transplant

Ashida Abass Nyasu, a 29-year-old nurse from Tumu, in the Upper West Region of Ghana, is confronting a critical struggle with kidney failure and desperately requires financial support for a life-saving kidney transplant in India.

Per a statement by Ayamga Bawah Fatawu on behalf of her family, Ashida Abass Nyasu, a mother of two and a committed healthcare professional at the Tumu Municipal Hospital, received a diagnosis of kidney failure earlier this year.

Despite her own serious condition, Nyasu keeps breastfeeding her three-month-old baby.

Her family is currently urgently trying to gather USD 18,500 to pay for the expenses of the transplant, travel, and aftercare in India.

Nyasu and her family are seeking public assistance, highlighting her dedication as a nurse and the pressing necessity for her medical care.

Contributions can be sent via MTN number 0246713410.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe Account has been set up to raise funds for her.

The fund has received a little over £1,300 which is just 26% of the target £5,000.
