GJA Condemns Angel FM’s ‘Orgasm News’ Title

The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has denounced Angel FM’s decision to name its midday news program ‘Orgasm News’, citing that the title offends journalistic standards of decency and professionalism.

In a news briefing at the Ghana International Conference Centre on Tuesday, February 18, Mr. Dwumfour highlighted the GJA’s commitment to promoting free and responsible media, stressing that the use of ‘Orgasm News’ constitutes a detrimental media practice that must be discouraged.

“We think using the word ‘Orgasm’ to christen the midday news defiles decency in journalism,” he said

He therefore appealed to the Management of Angel FM to adopt a more creative approach and rename their midday news programme with a title that reflects the station’s namesake values

“We urge the Management of Angel FM to be positively innovative and find an angelic name for the midday news.”
