The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) in Ghana has introduced a new entity registration certificate, marking an important development for businesses and organizations across the country.
In a press release dated March 13, 2025, OCR highlighted the purpose of the new registration certificates, noting that it is going to improve service delivery, and ensure that companies can now access more secure, reliable, documentation.
“This initiative aligns with ORC’s commitment to improve service delivery, provide secure and reliable documentation, and also to ensure the integrity of official documents to businesses and stakeholders,” it stated.

For many businesses, a certificate of registration is not just a requirement but a crucial document that signifies legitimacy and a firm foundation. However, in the past, businesses have faced challenges regarding the authenticity and integrity of these certificates.
In response to these concerns, the ORC has taken significant steps to enhance the security of these documents. The new certificates feature security measures designed to protect businesses from fraud and ensure that their registration details remain secure.
The new certificates are also designed with an updated look that includes the ORC logo and an official seal. The added security features, such as tamper-proof seals and advanced watermarking, make it even harder for unauthorized individuals to falsify documents, giving businesses greater peace of mind.

The ORC is urging all stakeholders, including businesses, corporate firms, banks, embassies, company secretaries, and business consultants, to take note of this important update. These changes are expected to simplify the way businesses interact with the ORC and make the process smoother for everyone involved.
“Whether you are a small business or a large corporation, this new development will improve the way you access and use your entity registration certificate.”
“As Ghana continues to grow as a hub for business and entrepreneurship, these updates show the ORC’s dedication to supporting businesses by providing a secure and reliable system. With these new certificates, businesses can rest assured that their documentation is protected and that the ORC remains committed to fostering trust and integrity within the business community,” the ORC stated in the press release.
For anyone involved in business in Ghana, the message is clear: these new certificates are part of a broader effort to ensure that businesses operate in a system that prioritizes security, transparency, and efficiency.
