Appointees must help John Mahama to develop the Upper East Region – Hon. Edward Bawa.

The former Member of Parliament for the Bongo constituency and now group CEO for Goil Energy, Edward Abambire Bawa has expressed confidence in the ability of John Mahama to bring development to the Upper East Region.

Speaking to a section of the media during the Thank You visit of President John Mahama to the Upper East Region on Thursday, April 20, 2025, the former legislator stated that the president’s appointees must be willing to support his efforts toward the development of the region.

“The president is very determined to ensure that he delivers on his mandate. It is for us who have been appointed by him to see how we can work with him closely to see how these deliverables are realized” he stated.

His comments came on the back of the president’s speech at the occasion where he assured the people of the Upper East Region that he is poised to uplift the image of the region and turn its fortunes around for good.

John Mahama has appointed several people from the Upper East Region as part of his government. They include Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine as Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak as Deputy Minister of Education, Donatus Akamugri Atanga as Upper East Regional Minister, Madam Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba as Minister of State for Public Sector Reforms, Edward Abambire Bawa as Group CEO of Goil Energy PLC, and Isaac Adongo as Board Member for the Bank of Ghana.

Edward Bawa believes that with this number of appointees from the region, they can fuel the development of the region if they are willing.
