Alabi: NPP plotted to cheat as we focused on winning.

Professor Joshua Alabi, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of prioritizing strategies to manipulate the electoral process instead of focusing on genuine ways to win the 2024 elections. Speaking at an NDC event, Alabi claimed that while his party has been working tirelessly to secure victory through hard work and effective campaigning, the NPP has been preoccupied with plotting ways to rig the elections.
According to Alabi, the NDC has invested significant effort in connecting with the grassroots, addressing the concerns of Ghanaians, and building a robust campaign that reflects the will of the people. He noted that their focus has been on transparency, unity, and offering practical solutions to the challenges facing the nation.
He accused the NPP of relying on unethical tactics to retain power, adding that such actions undermine Ghana’s democracy and the trust of the people. Alabi urged Ghanaians to remain vigilant, particularly in the lead-up to the elections, and to safeguard the integrity of the democratic process.
The former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), also emphasized that the NDC is confident of victory based on its strong track record and the growing discontent with the NPP government. He called on party members to stay focused, work harder, and resist any attempts to subvert the will of the people.
Alabi’s comments form part of the NDC’s broader campaign to ensure free and fair elections in 2024.
