Gary Khammar was brought into the world in 1951 to Fred and Catherine Khammar in Watertown, New York. After finishing his studies at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he started his career in the music industry before making the switch to home video.

During the next thirty years, Khammar achieved legendary status in the home entertainment video sector by collaborating with Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment and RCA/Columbia Pictures Home Video, which later evolved into Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

He subsequently established Light Source & Imagery, his own production and post-production company, which produced content for international entertainment companies and other businesses.

In this role, he created numerous video shorts frequently utilized as bonus features on DVDs and Blu-rays. Khammar was employed by TV series like Fire Country, NCIS Los Angeles, Criminal Minds: Evolution, Seal Team, and CSI Las Vegas.
