Carmen Maldonado, Chicago PD Officer, Dead via Suicide Mourned by Friends and Family

Carmen Maldonado, a veteran officer with 9 years of service at the Chicago Police Department, has passed away.
Maldonado’s loved ones have been grieving her on social media after her tragic death. She was said to have died by suicide. Her age was 35.
Maldonado’s closest companion and colleague, Calla Roulds, who recently got married with Maldonado present, expressed disbelief upon learning about her passing.
Posting many pictures of them together, including some from her recent wedding, Roulds was surprised to hear that Carmen had committed suicide.
Carmen posted another message expressing sorrow, stating: “She (Carmen) was too pure for this world.”

Maldonado’s death details are not being revealed at this time, however, many friends are expressing sorrow over the impact her job as a police officer and first responder had on her mental well-being.
Carmen Maldonado became part of the Chicago PD in August 2015 and remained with the Department until she passed away.
An accomplished officer, she was recognized with multiple awards in her career, such as the Superintendent’s Award Of Tactical Excellence in 2018 and the Crime Reduction Award in 2019.
