CEO of GhCCI Calls for Partnerships to Drive Industry Growth

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Chamber of Construction Industries (GhCCI), Emmanuel Cherry, has encouraged industry stakeholders to embrace partnerships as a strategy for enhancing profitability and growth.

Speaking at the launch of the 2025 Ghana Investment and Trade Week and the American Prosperity Exhibition on February 3, 2025, Emmanuel Cherry emphasized the need to collaborate, adding that the independent operation of many construction players in Ghana rather than collaborating reduces the ability of these industries to expand and compete on a global scale.

The CEO cited other parts of the world where businesses succeed by leveraging partnerships with each other, advising Ghana’s construction industry to do the same for visible growth.

“The problem we have here as an industry is that we normally fear partnerships, and that is a challenge. In other parts of the world, you see that they normally pull their resources together, and before you know, they have grown.”

Mr. Cherry highlighted greed and selfishness as the major causes of collaboration in Ghana’s construction industry. He warned that unless this mindset changes, businesses may continue to struggle with limited growth and reduced profitability.
