Fiifi Banson insists Mustapha Ussif is the Worst Sports Minister ever

Celebrated and legendary sports journalist and broadcaster has had to rate the immediate past Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif as the worst-ever individual to serve in that capacity.

Speaking on Accra-based Sporty FM, the veteran broadcaster expressed his displeasure with how Mustapha Ussif administered the ministry.

“Mustapha Ussif is the worst sports minister ever” the sports enthusiast dropped the bombshell.

His remarks were assented to by some sports or football lovers.

A netizen who goes by the name @Abdul said “ This is an undeniable fact”. 

Sammy Boateng also added “Was that one too a minister? He is just something be there”

There are a few netizens who disagree with Fiifi Banson.

@Opeimu alleges that “ Fiifi is an NDC faithful. He is on record to have campaigned for the NDC so his views on Akuffo Addo’s government can’t be considered as unbelievable “.

Honorable Mustapha Ussif won the election for Yagaba-Kubori Constituency in 2020. 

In January 2021, President Akufo-Addo chose him to be the Minister of Youth and Sports. 

After getting approved by Parliament, Ussif officially became minister in March 2021, when he and 27 other new ministers took their oaths at the Jubilee House in Accra.

Under his leadership, the ministry faced challenges day in and out. For the first time in 20 years, we failed to qualify for the AFCON in January 2025. 

Prior to that, our last two appearances at the tournament have been awful and an embarrassment to the people of Ghana.

On the other hand, Fiifi Banson is not happy with former Black Stars Asamoah Gyan for accepting to serve as a member of the Black Stars Management Committee.
