Ghana Tourism Authority to Establish Paragliding Site in Volta Region – Abeiku Santana

The Deputy Chief Executive of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Gilbert Abeiku Santana says the authority is set to launch a paragliding site in the Volta region.

Speaking on Woezor TV on Monday, May 19, Mr. Santana revealed that feasibility studies have been completed in and around Hohoe, paving the way for the project’s implementation.

The paragliding site is expected to be ready for trials by September or the end of the year.

This initiative is part of the GTA’s efforts to boost tourism in the Volta region.

“Volta region is going to be one of the destinations that the Ghana Tourism Authority is going to be keen and intentional in promoting,” Mr. Santana stated.

He attributed the focus on the Volta region to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie’s origin and commitment to driving tourism numbers to the area.

With the paragliding site, Mr. Santana said the GTA aims to diversify the region’s tourism offerings and attract more visitors.
