The director of Venus Security Agency, Victor Doe, has revealed that the government has confirmed that no illegal substances were found in the two aircraft that recently attracted public and parliamentary scrutiny.
Speaking with Joy News on Friday, April 4, Dr. Doke explained that the aircraft, one a cargo plane and the other reportedly an air ambulance, went through rigorous checks upon arrival, involving multiple agencies.
He indicated that standard protocol was followed, with the first checks conducted by airport security and aviation officials. But to show transparency and reassurance, the president had to step in, but after the news broke out by the legislature, the president had to embody national security.
“You would have the person, you have a security agency, and 1 official also there doing this check.”

Dr. Doke added that there was a forensic inspection that included swab testing of cargo boxes for traces of illegal substances to confirm.
“So if they do that test and it comes out positive, it means that there’s a probability that there were drugs on board,” he explained.
He further emphasized the importance of credible information when discussing matters of national interest.
“We also have to make sure that anybody, not only the legislature, that comes out with what information would have to be very worried that the information from the source has to be authentic and not to misinform or to perform for the general public because we are talking about the country.” He stated.
Even though security checks revealed no unlawful substances were found on the aircraft in question, public opinion around the incident continues
