President John Dramani Mahama has vowed to take a zero-tolerance approach to crime, emphasizing that his government will pursue allegations of illicit activities and suspicious behavior without bias or hesitation.
As the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, President Mahama said his government will take all allegations seriously and impartially go after perpetrators of crime.
“Let me reiterate that we will take all allegations of crime seriously and trigger our security services’ investigative machinery to go after criminals no matter who they are.”
He said this at the Regular Career Course 63 graduation and commissioning parade at the Ghana Military Academy in Agotime Kpetoe, Ho, on Friday, 11th of April,
Mr. Mahama urged citizens to provide useful information and helpful intelligence to aid security agencies in their work, while cautioning against making false accusations.

““The complementary roles of individuals, organisations and the government in national security is of critical importance. I urge our citizens in discharging this complementary duty of helping to safeguard our security.
President Mahama also warned against distractions caused by false alarms, citing the famous fable of the shepherd boy who cried wolf.
“If we behave like that boy, either for partisan or parochial interest, we distract the attention of our security services from focusing on their critical job of keeping us safe.
“But let me state emphatically also that we do not have the resources and time to engage in any game of smoke and mirrors”.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to ending the Bawku conflict and finding lasting peace in the area.
