NABODICA Together With Peace Council To Embark On Peace Concert For Peaceful Election 2024

The Navrongo Bolgatanga Diocesan Choir Association (NABODICA) of the Catholic Diocese of Navrongo Bolgatanga is organizing a peace concert to advocate for peace in the Upper East Region and for a peaceful election in the country.

In a letter to the various churches and other organizations, the association called on all parishes, rectorates, and outstations to inform members of an intended Peace Concert aimed at achieving peace in the upcoming election.

According to the statement, the program which is on the theme: “STRENGTHENING GHANA’S DEMOCRACY: COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS FOR A PEACEFUL ELECTION 2024 AND BEYOND” is scheduled to take place on 8th November 2024 at the Regional GNAT Hall.

In an exclusive interview with Xtrememediaonline.com, the Music Director for Folks Choir at NABODICA, Mr. Atarezina Nicholas, stated that the idea to organize the peace concert was suggested by the Bishop of Navrongo Bolgatanga Diocese, His Lordship Bishop Alfred Agyenta when the association paid a courtesy call on him to discuss an annual carols Night program.

“We usually organize a carols night for the Region every year, so We visited the Bishop to discuss this year’s carols night event, and then the Bishop suggested to us that it would also be good if we could organize a peace concert to advocate for a peaceful election, the idea was wonderful and we bought into it”

In another interview, Mr. James Saaka, President of NABODICA, emphasized that organizing a peace concert at this time is very crucial following the security situation in the Upper East Region coupled with the unique nature of this year’s election and also the fact that elections are generally worrisome events in Ghana.

According to him, the event is not limited to the Christian community because they have extended invitation letters to the Regional Chief Imam, the Regional House of Chiefs, the Traditional Councils, Upper East and North East Regional Ministers, MMDCEs, Political Leaders Youth Organizations CSOs and the general public.

In his words, there will be speeches from the Bishop, Political leaders and others on peace building.He went further to say that “We believe that more needs to be done in order to attain peace in te country.He also calls on the general public to make time for this all important program and add their voices to the peace campaign.
