Pres. Mahama Appoints Donatus Atanga As Upper East Regional Minister Designate

President of the Republic of Ghana John Mahama has appointed the Honorable Akamugri Donarus Atanga as the Upper East Regional Minister pending approval of the vetting committee of parliament.

Akamugri Donarus Atanga is among 9 others who have been appointed.

In a statement signed by governments spokesman Felix Ofosu Kwakye signaling that this is the first batch of the 16 expected Regional Ministers.

Per his CV, Akamugri Donatus Atanga holds a Masters in Human Rights and has a Bachelors of Education degree among other enviable credentials.

Before his appointment, Akamugri Donatus Atanga has held the position as the Regional Secretary of the governing party. He held the position since 1998 until his ministerial appointment.

Mr Atanga was once the Coordinator of the National School Feeding Program. He was also a Presiding Member of the Bongo District Assembly.
