Remi Wagner, Milwaukee Ballet II Dancer Is Dead

Remi Wagner, a member of the Milwaukee Ballett II dance company, who was a ballet dancer, has passed away.

Milwaukee Ballett II announced Wagner’s passing in a statement posted on social media on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. No explanation for the death was provided.

In a statement, the company expressed deep sorrow at the news of the death of Remi Wagner, a dancer in Milwaukee Ballet II Second Company. “Remi had been a cherished part of the Milwaukee Ballet community since the beginning of the 2023/24 season, and his sudden passing has deeply saddened us all.”

They offered their sympathy to his family and friends and promised to honor his legacy by continuing to create the art he was passionate about.

We are keeping his family, friends, and everyone else he impacted with his kindness and passion in our thoughts and prayers. As we keep making the art he loved, we will always remember Remi,” the statement finished.

Remi Wagner, a native of Colorado, received her training from the San Francisco Ballet. He began studying ballet at 6 years old in Colorado before becoming a trainee at the San Francisco Ballet School in 2021.

At SFB, he danced in Helgi Tomasson’s Nutcracker, was a showcased dancer in Myles Thatcher’s “After Light”, performed different roles in Giselle, Cinderella, Seasons, etc., and choreographed his part in Stereo is King.

Wagner achieved first place in classical and contemporary ballet at the Youth America Grand Prix, which is the biggest student ballet scholarship competition globally. He has performed as a guest artist for Panama Youth Ballet and Bolshoi Ballet Spring Festival in Moscow.

During the 2023/24 season, Wagner became a member of Milwaukee Ballet II Second Company and remained there until his premature passing.
