Sarkodie’s Viral Instagram Post: A Political Message or Just a Joke?
Ghana’s biggest rappers Sarkodie always got something to say. He posted on Instagram not long ago has really gone viral.
“Back to gari soakings like we never left,” read the caption, which, at first glance, doesn’t seem like a big deal. However, many believe it is a response to President Mahama’s inauguration on January 7, following his victory in the 2024 election.
During Mahama’s administration from 2013 to 2016, Sarkodie voiced his disapproval, which is nothing new for him.
Some people say he is aligned to the NPP the reason for his “silence” during Akufo-Addo presidency (2017–2024.

As a result of this new role, tension has arisen. Some of his supporters have gone so far to claim they will no longer back him because he is hypocritical and unauthentic.
However, many sees this differently, some are saying it can be similar to his fond memories of gari soakings, and not an attempt to make a strong political point.
