Savannah Grace Copeland, GoFundMe Started for 13-year-old Girl Stabbed to Death In Powell TN

Savannah Grace Copeland, a 13-year-old girl, was brutally murdered in Powell, Tennessee, causing shock among the local community.
A 15-year-old boy stabbed Copeland several times, resulting in his death. Malakiah Lamar Harris was recognized as him.
He is facing allegations of second-degree murder and remains in custody with no opportunity for bond until his trial.
The Powell Tennessee community was left stunned when the Knox County Sheriff’s Office revealed that a body was discovered on a trail on Tuesday afternoon in the Broadacres subdivision of Powell, near Knoxville.
Information in court documents shows that the victim and the perpetrator came together sometime shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

“During the interaction, the defendant used a pocketknife he carried with him to stab the victim multiple times, killing her,” court documents read. “He left her at the location without notifying anyone, and she was subsequently discovered deceased later in the day by citizens.”
“Savannah Grace Copeland, beloved child of Michael and Amanda Copeland, now rests peacefully with the Lord after leaving this earth too soon. Savannah, only 13 years old, was the victim of a vicious murder in the early hours of October 22, 2024,” the fundraiser began. “Savannah was a joy to her parents, brother Britton and twin brother Kasey, family, and friends. She lost her young life in a senseless manner leaving behind her devastated family. Her parents and siblings are now not only facing a life without her but are also contending with funeral expenses and loss of income. Officials did not release the name of the deceased individual, however, a fundraiser created by her family revealed that she was Savannah Grace Copeland.
Savannah Grace Copeland was stated to have been born to Michael and Amanda Copeland on September 3, 2011, as mentioned in her obituary, along with her twin brother Kasey. She went to Powell Middle School and excelled in academics and sports. Savannah excelled as a cheerleader and participated in gymnastics and karate competitions. She aspired to be a forensic anthropologist.
The deceased teenager will be remembered in a memorial service at Powell United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 6:00 p.m, located at 323 W. Emory Rd. in Powell.
