Stop Being Lazy And Work Hard For God To Bless You – Catholic Priest Tells Youth

The Rector for the St. Theresa Rectorate – Zorkor, Rev. Fr. Ezekiel Farouk Suley has cautioned young people to stop Laziness and work hard to attract God’s blessings.

Speaking at the Annual Harvest and Thanksgiving Service at St. Victor Catholic Church – Kadare: an outstation of the St. Theresa Rectorate, the seasoned preacher explains that God has the power to bless his people and indeed wants to bless them, but it is through hard work that his blessings can be attracted.

According to Rev Fr. Ezekiel, the first reading of the day which was taken from Deuteronomy 6:2-6 speaks of God’s plan and desire to bless humanity but also enjoins them to listen to the voice of God and obey his directions.

“Young people, get something doing, engage yourselves in business, rearing, and activities that will get you money, and stop being lazy” Quoting from St. Augustine’s popular statement which says “God created us without us but he cannot save us without us” the Rector emphasized that everyone has a role to play in his salvation and progress.

His preaching falls directly in line with that of Rev. Fr. Ebenezer who celebrated mass at the St. Theresa Main station last Sunday in the absence of Rev. Fr. Ezekiel.

Fr. Ebenezer spoke on the theme: Making Use of Every Opportunity to Do Good.

According to Fr. Ebenezer, crime is on the rise because people are too lazy to work and prefer to resort to easier ways of making money and that accounts for all the corruptions, embezzlement, stealing, armed robbery and the likes that we see everyday.

He passionately challenged young people to desist from Laziness and resort to hard work to make good money.

It thus appears that God is on a mission to transform the church from Laziness to hard work but what can we say? We only hope that their word and effort will not be abandoned by the congregation.
