The convoy of the National Democratic Party (NDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Mohammed Boateng, was ambushed by armed robbers while returning from a rally in his hometown of Namasa, located in the Tain District of the Bono Region.
Evans Mensah, the Bono Regional Chairman of the NDP, who was accompanying the candidate and his team, stated that the attack took place on the Nsawkaw-Wenchi road around 8:00 PM as they headed toward Sunyani.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries; however, their windshields were shattered, and the vehicles sustained numerous bullet holes.
The incident has been reported to the Wenchi police for further investigation.
