The GAF Disputes Allegations Of Munitions Supply In The Extensively Circulated Tape

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have denied claims made in a widely shared audio recording that a civilian pickup vehicle was permitted entry into the 5th Battalion of Infantry’s Magazine in order to deliver ammo boxes to an unidentified location. On December 25, 2024, the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters in Burma Camp, Accra, released a press release in which the GAF assured the public that the assertions in the audio recording are completely untrue and should be ignored.

It was explained in the statement that the car was transporting a recently purchased live cow that was being quarantined before being moved to the kraal next to the Magazine.

GAF advised people and organizations to confirm security services information before disseminating misleading material that could mislead the public. According to the statement, such behavior, especially at this time, unnecessarily increases tension, anxiety, and panic. For accurate and trustworthy information, the Armed Forces urged the public to get in touch with the Department of Public Relations and reminded them that their doors are always open for questions. GAF urged people to refrain from taking any activities that would jeopardize national peace, whether deliberate or unintentional, and reaffirmed its unflinching commitment to defending the country’s stability and sovereignty.
