We were Very Unlucky- Arteta After Chelsea’s Draw

After Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, manager Mikel Arteta expressed mixed emotions, stating, “I am both very disappointed and quite proud of the team’s performance.”

He acknowledged the challenge of scoring first but criticized the defensive lapse that allowed Chelsea to equalize.

Arteta emphasized that while Chelsea has quality, Arsenal’s standards were lacking defensively, leading to their missed opportunities.

Despite this, he praised his team’s response, highlighting their strong desire to win and dominance throughout the match. “We were very unlucky,” he noted, asserting that they had dominated one of Europe’s elite teams without securing the desired result.

Arteta identified this as the crucial missing element for his squad. He also mentioned ongoing injury issues affecting player fitness, which hindered their performance consistency.

As Arsenal sits nine points behind league leaders Liverpool, Arteta’s focus remains on improving results and maintaining team morale as they navigate a challenging season
