Man Calls for Unity Among Assembly Members for Bongo as They Elect Presiding Member.

A 46-year-old who identified himself as Atibila Azaba has called on the Assembly Members for Bongo Constituency to come together and get a presiding member to foster development in the district.
As the assembly members of Bongo gathered today, 15th April, to elect a presiding member, swear in newly appointed members, and endorse the appointment of the district chief executive, the young man was seen with a placard with the inscriptions, “The Development of Bongo Depends on You, the Assemble Members. Let us come together and get a presiding member this time.”

In an exclusive interview with Godfred Awindenaba of Xtrememediaonline, Mr. Azaba revealed that the absence of a presiding member in the district has hindered the development of Bongo
“For four years now, Bongo has not been able to get a presiding member because the Assembly Members have not been able to come together and do the right thing and that has been a problem yo us all these four years.”

He further explained that the absence of a presiding member has resulted in the district missing out on numerous development opportunities, including potential financial allocations.
“We have not been able to get our deserved funds to see our roads and other infrastructure. Our roads need to be constructed, but the Assembly Members are not helping us. They were busy complaining about the past DCE, but it was not her fault. They should get a presiding member for the district now,” he stated.

Mr. Azaba added that the decision to make this advocacy was entirely his idea because he cares about the development of the district.
“It is my own decision; no one asked me to do it. I went inside the cafe there and did it; you can see the papers are more than one. I did it, and there was a mistake, and I went back and corrected it. I am a farmer but I can clearly see that Bongo is having bad roads and they need to fix them for us.”
Bongo District has been without a presiding member since the District Assembly Elections, a situation that has been worrisome to the people of the district. Though several attempts have been made to close the gap, no better results have been produced.

The people are eagerly waiting for better results today.
