Young Thug Accepts Crimes After Taking Guilty Plea Deal

American rapper Young Thug, aka Jeffrey Williams, accepted full responsibility for his actions in a court hearing on Thursday, October 31, 2024. He pleaded with the judge to release him, expressing remorse and apologizing to his family and mother.
“I take full responsibility for my crimes, for charges. I want to say sorry to my family, to my mom…”
This development comes after spending over 900 days in custody, marking the longest case in Georgia’s history.
Young Thug was accused of leading a gang and involvement in various crimes, including murder and violent offenses, dating back to 2013. In May 2022, he was charged alongside a dozen others, including rapper Gunna, under Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
As part of a non-negotiated guilty plea deal, Young Thug will serve 5 years in prison, commuted to time served, followed by 15 years of probation. If he violates probation, he faces an additional 20 years in prison ¹. This plea deal marks a significant turning point in the highly publicized YSL RICO trial.
